Nuove Scoperte de’ Russi al Nord del Mare del Sud si nell’Asia, che nell’America
Antonio Zatta engraved this map in 1776, when reports of Russian voyages out of the North Pacific were the freshest intelligence reaching European mapmakers and the Northwest Coast was still largely unsurveyed. California, the western reaches of North America, and the Asian shore of the Pacific all appear as they were then understood, informed guesswork included.
This Zatta 1776 map comes from Artokoloro as a digitally restored print, made from a high-resolution scan of the original engraving.
