Canada Shaded Relief Wall Map
Canada’s terrain does the talking on this shaded relief wall map from Natural Resources Canada. The digital shaded relief is unusually fine-grained, so the Canadian Shield, the Rocky Mountain front, the Appalachian uplands of Quebec and the flat expanse of the Interior Plains all read at a glance. The Vertical Near-Side Perspective Projection gives the country a globe-like curve rather than the stretched look of a standard rectangular sheet.
Sourced directly from the Atlas of Canada, the sheet pairs terrain with political detail and three thematic insets:
- Main map at 1:6,000,000 with official federal, provincial and surrounding international boundaries
- Shows the proposed boundary for Nunavut, drawn before the territory was formally established in 1999
- Three insets, each at 1:35,000,000: major physiographic regions, major drainage basins, and classes of vegetation cover
- Underlying data reflects the mid to late 1990s
Map Shop offers this map on paper, laminated, mounted to foam core, railed or framed in black or walnut molding.
