United States Contemporary Wall Map
Most national reference maps are built for a boardroom wall, not the space above a desk. National Geographic scaled this one down and edited the content to match, keeping the detail readable rather than cramming a full-size sheet into a small footprint.
Cartography follows the Albers Conic Equal-Area Projection, the standard for the conterminous United States because it holds relative area honest across the country’s east-west spread. Research and editorial work meet the same standards National Geographic applies to its full-format wall maps.
- Albers Conic Equal-Area Projection
- Printed on premium 36 lb paper, or laminated front and back with 1.7 mil satin-gloss film for wet-erase markers and map stickers
- Mounted on 1/4 inch foam core for push pins, or finished with black or walnut rails or framing at Map Shop
A sensible fit for a home office, a teacher’s wall, or a reception area.
