Werelt Caert
Dutch Bibles of the early 1700s often opened with a map, and this is one of them. The Stoopendaal 1730 world map was engraved by Dutch illustrator and cartographer Daniel Stoopendaal for publication in the Keur Bible, placing the whole known world in two facing hemispheres for readers who would never leave the Low Countries. It carries the look of late Dutch Golden Age engraving: two circular projections, decorative framing, and place names spelled the way an Amsterdam engraver heard them.
Map Shop offers it as an ultra-high quality reproduction from Artokoloro, not an original antique.
