Antarctica Advanced Pull Down Map
Antarctica gets shortchanged in most geography units, flattened into a white band along the bottom of a world map. This map treats the continent as a subject in its own right, with shaded relief on land, bathymetric relief offshore, and ocean surface currents circling the coast.
Built for grades 9 and up, it mounts on a spring roller with a backboard so it can hang above a whiteboard and be pulled down only when the lesson calls for it.
- Azimuthal Equidistant projection, keeping landmass proportions accurate with minimal distortion across the continent
- Georeference and degree lines for teaching the global grid
- National capitals, major and secondary cities, territorial claims, and disputed borders labeled
- Physical detail: mountain ranges, islands, rivers, lakes, and marine features
- Optional flags variation, or educational panels covering population density, an elevation ramp with side-on elevation profile, and Köppen climate zones
Used by high school geography teachers, community college earth science instructors, and home school parents for plate tectonics, climate, and treaty-claim discussions. Also available as a standard wall map. Map Shop handles school and government purchase orders.
