Antique World Map by Lovell Johns
This map borrows the palette of an old atlas plate without giving up modern accuracy. Soft sepias, faded greens and dusty golds carry the vintage look, while the underlying cartography comes from Lovell Johns, the British mapmaking house in Oxfordshire.
Political detail is all there. Countries are shaded in contrasting muted tones so borders read clearly from across a room, national boundaries are drawn throughout, and cities are named. Ocean areas stay quiet, which keeps the piece calm on a wall.
This map tends to land in reception areas, law office lobbies, studies and dining rooms, where a decorator or office manager wants a world map that looks like furniture rather than equipment. Map Shop finishes it in-house:
- Premium 36lb paper
- Satin lamination at 1.7 mil
- Mounting to quarter-inch foam core
- Black or walnut rails, or full framing
Choose mounted or framed if you plan to push travel pins into it.
