Alaska
Alaska, shown just after its boundary with Canada was agreed, in a historical map from National Geographic Magazine. It gives a clear view of how much of the territory had been surveyed at the time.
- Published: 1904
- Source article: “The Geography of Alaska.”
- Inset: areas mapped by the U.S. Geological Survey.
- Companion piece: the Alaska Boundary Tribunal map, printed the same year.
It shows the far north as mapmakers saw it at the turn of the century, making it a valuable resource for history enthusiasts, Alaska educators and library buyers.
