Lviv Tourist Map
The Lviv tourist map from Kartographia solves the alphabet problem first. Place and street names are printed in Latynka, the Ukrainian Latin alphabet, so a visitor who does not read Cyrillic can still work out the way from the railway station to the Old Town. The legend appears in English, Polish and German, and a table shows how each Romanized Ukrainian letter reads in those three languages.
- City center shown in a separate inset at 1:12,000
- Residential quarters labeled with corner house numbers
- Airport, railway stations and bus terminals marked
- Museums, theaters, cinemas, monuments, churches, hotels, hospitals and diplomatic missions located
- Forests, parks, public gardens and cemeteries shown, along with city district boundaries and the limits of the city council
Kartographia, the Hungarian publisher, keeps the sheet uncluttered rather than dense. Map Shop offers it on 36lb paper, laminated, mounted to foam core, railed or framed in black or walnut molding, which suits tour operators, Slavic studies departments and diaspora families tracing family streets.
