London Boroughs Typographic Map

Rather than solid fills and thin boundary lines, this map builds each borough out of its own name, sized and angled to fill the shape it belongs to. Oxford Cartographers set the whole thing on a warm beige base with colored borough fills, so Westminster, Camden, Hackney, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Barnet, Croydon and Richmond upon Thames read as words and as geography at once.

It behaves like art, not reference. Interior designers and gift buyers pick it for hallways, reception areas, and home offices where a conventional London street map would look too busy.

Paper

Paper finishing is the most economical option. Most maps are printed on premium 36lb paper. Waterproof paper is also available for functional maps that may be used outdoors.

Laminated

Maps are printed, then run through our laminator that applies 1.7mil-thick satin-gloss lamination to the front and back. You can use map stickers and wet-erase markers.

First, we laminate the map, then mount wood rails at the top and bottom. The front side of each rail features a black or walnut finish, while the sides and back are unfinished wood. We recommend a mounted or framed option if you'd like to use map pins to mark locations.

Framed

Maps are laminated onto foam core, then secured into the frame. The engineered molding is made from recycled wood in either a black or walnut finish that wraps around the entire map. Most moldings are 2″ wide by 3/4″ deep, but maps 24″ x 36″ and smaller use a 1.25″ wide molding. You can use map pins, stickers, or wet-erase markers on all our framed maps. Ready-to-hang sawtooth hardware or wire hanging loops are included.

Spring Roller

The map is laminated then installed on a spring roller and backboard.
