Asia Advanced Physical Wall Map
Physical geography falls apart when every country is a different color. The Asia Advanced Physical Wall Map from Map Shop drops political fill in favor of a graduated elevation ramp, so the Himalaya, the Tibetan Plateau, the Gobi and the Siberian lowlands read as terrain instead of a patchwork of borders. It is built for grades 9 and up, making it well suited for high school geography rooms, AP Human Geography sections and college survey courses.
What students can read off the wall:
- Colorful elevation ramp with shaded relief covering mountain ranges, rivers, lakes and islands
- Bathymetric relief plus ocean surface currents for marine and water geography
- Georeference and degree lines for teaching the global grid system
- National capitals, major cities, secondary cities and disputed borders, all labeled
- Azimuthal Equidistant projection, an equal-distance projection that keeps landmass proportions honest
- Educational panels covering topics including population density
Map Shop offers it on paper, laminated, laminated with black or walnut rails, mounted to foam core, or framed. Also available as a classroom pull down map, with purchase orders accepted from schools and government buyers.
