Natural States of America Wall Map
This wall map answers a question most reference maps skip: who is protecting American open space, and where the pressure on it is greatest. Produced by National Geographic as part of the Landscope America conservation project, it tells the story of the changing face of land conservation in the United States and the continuing threats to the nation’s open space, with particular attention to the growing role of private land trusts.
Descriptions of the major ecological divisions of the country run alongside a photographic transect of American ecosystems. Four inset maps carry the data:
- Imperiled species hotspots
- Vertebrate species richness
- Dollar investments in open space
- Land trust activity across the country
Map Shop prints it on premium 36 lb paper, with satin lamination, foam core mounting, black or walnut rails, and framing available.
