Korean Peninsula Wall Map
This Korean Peninsula wall map lifts a single plate out of National Geographic’s Atlas of the World, 11th Edition and offers it on its own, printed at a scale of 1:1,583,000. Physical and political content share the same sheet, so North and South Korea appear with their administrative divisions while shaded relief carries the mountainous spine of the peninsula and the seafloor tones of the surrounding waters.
The drawing uses a Polyconic projection, where every parallel is a non-concentric circular arc except the straight equator. Insets of central Japan and the Ryukyu Islands extend the coverage beyond Korea itself, and lists of the administrative regions of both nations sit alongside the map for quick reference.
The bright palette, blue oceans and relief shading follow the cartographic style National Geographic has used on wall maps for more than 75 years.
