Ireland and Scotland Wall Map
This Ireland and Scotland wall map treats the two as a side-by-side pair, which is how National Geographic drew it for the 11th Edition Atlas of the World. It is now sold on its own, no atlas required.
Physical and political content sit together on one sheet: shaded relief across the Scottish Highlands and the hills of Connemara, blue ocean tints in the North Channel and Irish Sea, and place names set with the label discipline National Geographic has kept on its wall maps for more than 75 years. The scale is 1:1,042,000, drawn on a Polyconic projection where the parallels are non-concentric circular arcs. An inset covers the Shetland Islands, well north of the main sheet.
Geography teachers use it for terrain and environmental lessons, since students read landform from relief far better than from a flat political map. It also holds up as a heritage piece in a home office or study.
Map Shop finishes it in the following formats:
- Paper
- Laminated
- Mounted to foam core
- Railed
- Framed in black or walnut molding
