1911 Charlotte NC Map
In 1911 Charlotte was still a railroad and cotton mill town of roughly 34,000 people, its street grid radiating from the crossing of Trade and Tryon while streetcar lines pulled new blocks toward Dilworth and the young Myers Park. This map holds the Mecklenburg County seat at that moment, decades before the banking towers and the interstates rearranged everything around Uptown.
Map Shop produces it as a reproduction, not an original sheet:
- Printed from a high-resolution scan of the 1911 original and digitally restored to clear defects
- Standard printing on premium 36lb paper, with waterproof stock available
- Lamination applies 1.7mil satin-gloss film front and back, so wet-erase markers and map stickers work on it
- Mounted version is laminated to quarter-inch foam core, which accepts map pins
- Rail and frame finishing offered in black or walnut molding, with sawtooth hardware on railed maps
A natural fit for Charlotte history buffs, local real estate and law offices, and preservation groups furnishing a lobby with something rooted in the city itself.
