Kyivan Rus Historical Wall Map
Before there was a Ukraine on any modern map, there were the principalities of Kyivan Rus, and their towns are still on the ground. This Ukrainian-language historical wall map plots the territories of those ancient principalities across the X to XIII centuries at a scale of 1:1,500,000, published by Kartographia.
Every town named in the Chronicles appears here, along with the year of its first mention, and the annual chronicle accounts themselves begin in the 10th century. Settlements identified through archaeological study of the region are shown as well, together with historical place names and the sites of battles. An inset presents Kyivan Rus under Yaroslav the Wise and Volodymyr Monomakh, while the margins carry illustrations of surviving Old Rus monuments.
Text is Ukrainian throughout, making this a scholarly and heritage piece rather than a general reference map. Map Shop offers it as paper, satin laminate, foam core mounting, or with black or walnut rails and framing.
