France, Belgium and the Netherlands Physical and Political Map
This map comes straight out of National Geographic’s 11th Edition Atlas of the World, reprinted as a stand-alone wall map. Elevation and politics sit on the same sheet, so the shaded relief across the Alps and the Massif Central reads alongside the low Rhine and Meuse delta country of the Benelux, with regions and provinces drawn in and named.
- Scale of 1:1,778,000, drawn in the Albers Conic Equal-Area projection, which minimizes distortion between two standard parallels while not preserving scale or shape
- Shaded relief and blue ocean tones, the palette National Geographic has used on its wall maps for over 75 years
- Regions of France plus Belgian and Dutch provinces labeled, with place names positioned for legibility instead of crowding the terrain
- English labeling throughout
- Finishing choices at Map Shop: paper, laminated, mounted to foam core, black or walnut rails, or framed
