Kahanamoku Beach
Kahanamoku Beach takes the quietest corner of Waikiki and reduces it to color and shoreline. The beach sits on the south shore of Oahu in Honolulu, fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village, sheltered enough that it draws families and first-time paddlers rather than surfers. It carries the name of Duke Kahanamoku, the Olympic swimmer from Honolulu who spread surfing across the world.
This print comes from the Water series by City Prints. There is no scale bar and no cartographic clutter, so the piece reads as modern art first and a map second.
- Unframed prints are produced on 105# Stardream Pearlescent paper, which shifts slightly under changing light
- Canvas versions are printed directly and stretched over 1.5 inch deep wood stretcher bars, corner braced, with hanging hardware already attached
- Every City Prints piece is printed on demand
Honolulu transplants living on the mainland hang it in a home office. Couples who married at the lagoon frame it for a hallway. Interior designers use it in coastal condo work, and office managers put it in reception where a Hawaii connection matters.
