When the world globe is not illuminated it displays a political map of the Earth. But flip on the model’s internal light bulb and watch as the desktop globe turn into a constellation map of the night sky! The political map of the non-illuminated globe features a pastel blue ocean color. The colorful, vivid shades of the planet’s nations are artfully composed to compliment the shades of the neighboring countries.
Flip on the switch of this illuminated globe and see the night sky come alive on the Replogle globe. 88 constellations and over 35 of the sky’s brightest stars become visible over a deep black background. The constellations, rather than being shaded in the typical silver hue; feature the pastel shades of the map underneath it, adding a dash of color to the otherwise black illuminated globe. The 12 inch diameter of the Replogle Day/Night Illuminated Desktop is framed by a pewter plated die-cast semi-meridian, and is supported by a black base, standing 16.5 inches tall.
